 Fishing: 

  • Fishing in Germany requires a licence and a fishing card. If you do not have a licence, you can get it at the tourist office. 2,50€/year for children and 12€/year for adults in Brandenburg.  In addition to this, you need a fishing card that is available in Brandenburg at the lake fisheries.
  • For Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, another licence is required. It is temporary and costs 24€. In addition you need a fishing card. It is possible to buy a common card for both regions for 35€/week. It can be purchased online, on site or at the tourist office. For questions, please contact the tourist office in Fürstenberg.

Information on the waterways

Waterways:
Most of the locks in the region are automatic, most of them with lock keeper, some others must be activated by the crew. The locks are open daily from 7am to 9pm, depending on the season. .More information on the locks of the region (in German).
