 Fishing: 

  • A fishing licence and a fishing permit are required for fishing. If you do not have a fishing licence, you can pay a fishing tax at the tourist office for fishing in the state of Brandenburg; this is €2.50/year for children and €12/year for adults. This is the so-called tourist fishing licence (peaceful fish).

 

  • The fishing licence is available from the lake fisheries in the state of Brandenburg and another tourist fishing licence is required in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. This costs €24 including fishing tax (limited in time).

    This costs €24.00 and is limited in time. Once you have acquired the tourist fishing licence, you can buy a fishing licence. The licences are available for different periods and can also be purchased online.

Information on the waterways

Waterways:
Most of the locks in the region are operated automatically. A lock keeper is still present at some locks. Depending on the season, the opening hours are usually from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. You can obtain more detailed information at the harbour, from the waterway maps or at www.elwis.de
